Early spring, big bud silver needle white tea from ancient trees growing at 1500m+ in Bắc Yên, Sơn La. Sun/ shade withered and dried. Processed by a H'Mông family living and working near these tea gardens.

Wet and dry leaves give off a complex sugar sweet fragrance. The tea brews up slowly into a thick and smooth soup. Flavor is deeply sweet, floral and a bit nutty. Lasting sweetness builds in the throat after a few cups. I get an enjoyable rising, heady qi effect from this tea.

I feel this tea has reached a nice stage after the 9 months of aging since production (January 2023 at the time of writing). This tea should also continue to age well and will be interesting to see how it develops after an additional year or two.

This tea is quite flexible and I like to brew it at 85-100 degrees for long steeps. Goes many rounds and is also a good candidate for grandpa style brewing.

Great tea for warmer days or when you need a tea that’s cooling and gentle on the body.
